Choate qualifies for PGA Professional National Championship
PGA Head Teaching Professional at Canongate at the Woodlands Dean Choate qualified for the prestigious PGA Professional National Championship to be held at Reynold’s Landing in Greensboro, Georgia June 16 through the 22, 2008. The top eight finishers from the Texas PGA Section qualify, and Dean shot 77-71-71 to finish tied for seventh place. The PGA Professional National Championship takes qualifiers from every PGA Section in the country and has them compete for a national champion. Way to go Dean!
Stackhouse Competing in Prestigious USGA Event
Flat Creek member and Canongate Junior Tour member Mariah Stackhouse is one of three top female amateurs representing Georgia in the United States Golf Association’s Team Championship, currently being played at Carlton Woods in Houston. This annual event showcases three female amateurs and three male amateurs from each of the 50 states and Mexico. Mariah joins Erin Packer of Tyrone and Susan Rainey to round out the Georgia Women’s Team. Representing Georgia on the men’s side is David Noll, Jr., Mark Strickland, and Jeff Belk. Canongate enjoyed hosting this team of top amateurs from Georgia for a dinner at The Palmer course at The Woodlands on Tuesday, September 18.
Stackhouse is a standout junior player who is currently the Flat Creek Ladies Club Champion and has captured several tournaments on the Canongate Junior Tour. She will be competing in this weekend’s Fenton Cup at Flat Creek. Come out for this event to see a fantastic talent!
